  • July 21, 2026: IIM Guwahati inaugurates its first MBA batch (2026-28) in the presence of distinguished dignitaries

    On July 21, 2026, the Indian Institute of Management Guwahati marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its first MBA batch (2026-28), ushering in a new chapter in India’s management education landscape.

    The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, who formally inaugurated the programme, in the august presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Ranoj Pegu, Hon’ble Education Minister, Assam; Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Ahmedabad and Mentor Director of IIM Guwahati; Shri Himangshu Baishya, Hon’ble MLA, Palashbari LAC; Dr Ravi Kota, Chief Secretary, Assam; Shri Narayan Konwar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Assam; Shri Paban Terang, Commissioner & Special Secretary to the Government of Assam, Public Works (Roads) Department; and Shri Anjan Goswami, Eminent Social Worker.

    The students were also addressed online by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, who conveyed his best wishes and encouraged them as they embark on this new journey.

    The pioneer batch comprises 52 students from across India, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to bringing together talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to shape the next generation of responsible leaders.

  • July 1, 2026:   All available seats have now been filled, and no further waitlist movement is currently planned. However, should any admitted candidate withdraw from the programme, the resulting vacancy may be offered to candidates on the waitlist, subject to seat availability. Eligible waitlisted candidates, if any, will be contacted directly by the Institute.
  • June 25, 2026:  The waitlist has been updated after the latest round of admission offers. Log in to  https://admission.iimg.ac.in/mba/login.php to check your status. Please note that the waitlist will be updated every 4–5 days, subject to seat availability, until all seats are filled.

  • June 11, 2026:   Following the latest waitlist movement, the admission status has been updated. Candidates may view their admission status at   https://admission.iimg.ac.in/mba/login.php. Please note that the waitlist will be updated every 4–5 days, subject to seat availability, until all seats are filled. Candidates are advised to regularly check the admission portal for the latest updates on their waitlist status.
  • 6th June Onwards: Candidates who have been selected for admission for the PGP-MBA 2026-2028 batch at IIMG (refer the Admission Process) will receive an email communication from the IIMG Admission Office. Candidates will be required to complete the steps outlined in the email to confirm their admission to the MBA programme at IIMG. To know your admission status, please click on the link https://admission.iimg.ac.in/mba/login.php. Please note that the waitlist will be updated every 4–5 days, subject to seat availability, until all seats are filled. Candidates are advised to regularly check the admission portal for the latest updates on their waitlist status.
  • May 20, 2026: Candidates shortlisted in Stage 1 of the admission process for the Two-Year MBA Programme (2026–2028 batch) may note that the deadline for submission has been extended to Thursday, 21 May 2026, 5:30 PM.
  • May 1, 2026: Candidates satisfying Basic Academic and CAT eligibility will receive an email communication from the IIMG Admission Office. Candidates are required to complete the steps outlined in the email to be considered for final selection to the MBA programme at IIMG.
